Does ordering on line from a Canadian supplier involve additional fees or problems?
I’ve never done it before and I can’t find the items I need in the US.
You cannot find what you want in America? The America we know and love! The America that is willing to send help to any nation because we have no problems in this country! You are not a true patriot, we need to have you checked out by the FBI. If your shown to be a non american you will be eligible to run for president!
Can’t you contact the supplier in Canada and ask what shipping will cost? I’m sure they will be willing to rob you as much as any american company.

Not as far as I know, clear sailing.
Fred,
Forgot your pills this morning?

Bob doesn’t allow anything you posted on this site.
John,
I have ordered from Canadien companies and just paid through VISA…And the stuff just showed up. No customs, nothing. Granted it was a bit over a year ago but that’s all there was to it. Same with a purchase I made from the UK just a month ago. I think you’re in the clear.
Depending on your credit card you probably will get hit with a Foreign Transaction Fee, but it’s usually not too bad.
Hi John Bouck:
The buying process, from your end, is identical to that of you ordering from an American dealer.
If you want a better currency exchange rate than the credit card company you could mail the dealer an United States Postal Money Order.
The only difference is your credit card will charge you a currency exchange fee for the credit card company to sell some Amercian Currency in order to buy the Canadian Currency to forward to the dealer from whom you are buying the product.
Same seemless process for Canadians. Just ask TrainWorld how many Canadian customers they have.
The United States Post Office will charge you the local sales tax to forward to your local State.
The only caution, and it is a big one, is to only use the United States Post Office to ship you your item.
Do not use any of the courier companies.
Why you may ask?
The courier companies charge a brokerage fee, substancial, to collect the sales tax.
The United States Post Office and Canada Post do not charge a brokerage fee. So inbound orders for me to Canada are mailed only through the United States Post Office. Never a courier company.
In fact a while back there was a local TV news special interviewing Canadian consumers on how they were extremely angry that the courier firm had charged a brokerage fee. I do not know why the courier companies do this. They are missing out on a lot of cross border shipping.
So, in summary only use the Canada Post and the United States Post Office for cross border purchases or returns. If the item is of significant value have the dealer mail the item with a tracking number so you know it won’t get lost.

Thanks for the input, Guys!
(Well, except for The Old Possum’s)

I looked all over the web for a certain brass scale model block and tackle and only 3 companies had them.
1 in Canada and 2 in the UK.
I finally started to build my own in the shop.
Made in USA, Fred!
