Related to a current thread…If this is inappropriate or in the wrong place please feel free to let me know and I will correct it. 
I am an admitted social media junkie (also an admittedly old one!). I sometimes have a hard time finding pages on Facebook and it sounds as though some of you may know of some good ones. Does anyone have any ‘G’ related or good gardening pages they would like to share?

Welcome. Nothing wrong with Facebook. Its a great resource with lots of information. When used together with LSC you will learn so much.

All of those looked pretty cool. Still I like the structure of a forum too. Not ashamed to say I pre-date Facebook (and the internet!).

Possible I have been living a sheltered life but I have not heard of 16mm. I assume this is an English thing???

Its more UK. Its basically 32mm track (O gauge) at 1:19 scale but 45MM track (G scale) is accepted).

There are a fair number of g-scale groups on Facebook. Search “G scale” and you’ll get a few. G scale trains, G scale.net, G scale model trains, G scale swap and shop… Some are more active than others, and there’s some redundancy as some folks are members of multiple groups and share their stuff across the spectrum. Join 'em. If there’s no activity, nothing will show up in your feeds, so it’s not like you’re losing anything. I will say the “G scale swap and shop” group is a good way to buy and sell stuff.

Yes, many of us here predate the widespread use of the Internet. But those of us here have caught up at least this far. Maybe someday I will also catch up further and start using Facebook.

I don’t dislike Facebook, but I don’t learn very much from it.
It’s a nice online chat type of product, but in depth discussions seem to get diluted or spread around the rest of the “noise” of just chatting.
I like learning from others and sharing what I know, solving issues, making stuff better, or learning or sharing how to fix stuff.
So, my take on Facebook is more social than informative or focused.
I also am not much for hundreds of popups, or ads, etc. I pay not to see advertising.
So, I just went to the USAT facebook site, and lots of pictures of lots of boxes of stuff, but for me, very little “meat”.
It’s definitely not a reference/resource.

I very rarely use Facebook for chatting. Never see popups or ads. The links I frequent are full of meaty subjects, like trains and track and train event schedules. Lotsa sharing and informative stuff. C’mon, Greg, you’re a techie type. I figured you’d be writing some code on the side for Zuckerberg or sumpthin’…
