I am trying to set up a christmas layout that has an inner and outer oval connected by 2 crossovers. A 2 stub yard is connected to the outer oval. I plan on having 4 trains, one on each oval and two in the yard. Can anyone point me to a place or help me design the blocks so I can control each oval and the yard with a separate power supply (I have three). I know the easy answer is get the heck of DC control and move to DCC, batteries, Train Engineer, whatever. Is what I am trying to do even possible? How hazardous is it to a loco to throw a switch and have mainline power instantly applied to it? This is a christmas layout and prone to be operated by folks who may not turn off one power supply before throwing a switch. I think I just answered my question.
