Can i Add sound to my 72510 LGB tender?

Just recently picked up a Coca Cola Christmas Set 72510. It has smoke and lights. I was wondering if sound could be added to the tender. The tender is wired for directional light, has speaker holes in base and has the 6 prong plug for connection to loco.

Look more closely at the connector, it is a 5 pin!!!

The 69232 tender is the sound version (generic steam chuff bell whistle) and you could swap parts between the 2. Or add a Phoenix, rear socket is track power.

Be careful with the wiring as the engine has a switch which controls the power for the tender sound and light.

The 5 wires are for…

2 for track power to the rear connector

1 for the sound power

1 for light power (5 volts)

1 common for sound and light

I added Mylocosound easily to my tender. It is big enough for Hobbyking remote control & speaker. My batteries are in the loco boiler.
The sound was so loud I simply place a strip of masking tape over the speaker grill on the bottom exteroir of the tender. Place more tape for softer sound, less tape for really loud sound.
This was the best way to alter sound without taking the tender apart. Really useful when visiting other garden railways or pleasing neighbours with night running!
