Camera Mount in the car

Yep, something needed to give errrr I mean get a whole lot more stable. Since I have one of those Delkin Fat Gecko Mini I decided to see how that would work with the extension mounted. I guess it would do a fine job if I could mount it with the arm in the Vertical, but there’s too little room for that. Sooo … it was back to the old tripod solution with the tilt arm supported.

I also stabilized the front with the woodshims that rest on the front of the dash - the portion that doesn’t flex. Then I went for a test in the neighbourhood, hitting every bump, manhole cover depression etc and went too fast over a series of speed bumps. Seems stable enough, all I need now … a cleaner windshield.  And if it works as envisioned I make up some proper parts; good density neoprene comes to mind.

And here the video that resulted from my speedy trip over a few bumps and dips.

it looks promising, half the stuff from yesterday’s trip is just for the birds. :frowning: :frowning:

Fairly smooth.
Now run the van down the tracks, like Jim does in the Vette.

If it stays like that as far as jitter and bounce is concerned I’ll be happy. One thing is sure, the roads in Alberta are smoother, must be all that oil money that does it.

And what happened to the Link? :open_mouth: :open_mouth:

Reset it and it works again. Hmmmm??
