Really nice pictures Shawn. Our weather wasn’t quite so nice. I thought about trying to clear some of the line, but then decided that wading in knee deep drifts to remove fallen branches with no snow boots wasn’t something I wanted to do. Perhaps Saturday - it’s supposed to be near 50F here then.
Ran a few trains today. We’re expecting up to a foot of snow starting tonight. So, “Calm before the storm” seems to be appropriate. Tests by the PVRR found the 2-6-2 Prairie capable of pulling only one boxcar and caboose on the Deep Gap line. Not at all acceptable performance and management is still considering it’s options.

#1332 had headlight issues today. The problem was traced to a broken wire. Repairs will wait until some connectors I ordered arrive.

Locals in the valley lined up to see the fancy cars from “up north”. This particular car so frightened an elderly women, they had to revive her with “smelling salts”. Rumor has it the car was all the way from Pennsylvania. Imagine that.

Locals didn’t know what to make of this car. But they figgered it must be important…having the “World” on it, and all.

LOL great stuff Ralph. The 2-6-0 looks great with just the box car and caboose. You should try some of the aristo 2 axle stuff since it is smaller and lighter.
Ralph how is the PVRR making out with the snow. We need some updates to know everyonething is ok. I hope the MR doesnt have to come down and check on the PVRR.
Forcast for the KMRR is snow tomorrow into wed up to a foot of snow or more depending on the track of low. The guys will be getting the fire wood stacked, food stocked up and maint along the lines. The guys are also hoping to get the tunnel back open today.
Well,
Went to bed at midnight, no snow.
Got up at 6:00am and there is 8 inches on the ground and it is still coming down.

Wow Ralph, you guys are going to have some snow worth measuring.
We’ll be shut down here for several days. When it stops snowing, I have several hundred feet of driveway to shovel
Ralph
started here between 0122 and 0215. nearly 4 inches on ground, light flurries…cold, strike that now heavy flurries. Headed into town to glue the 1600+ feet of vinyl we cut and laid yesterday in Carlas new shop.

Well, here in Charlotte where I am camped out for training, there was about 2-3 inches when I got up this morning at 6:00am. It snowed in varying degrees of intensity most of the day. About the time we got out of class it had begun to change from snow to sleet/freezing rain. It is supposed to do that through tomorrow morning. I hope class does not get canceled tomorrow, I really don’t want to stare at the walls all day.

After working the last four days i finalley got to shovel my tracks out again (On sunday) Yesterday I had the Big John out running on battery power.
