Finally finished the latest structure except for touching up some paint on the brad heads. It is sitting approximately where it will be installed after trackwork is done. Thought it might be of interest to some. The business is named for my dad who owned several cabinet shops in the 1940’s.
Structure walls are plexi secured to solid cedar floors. Siliconised Acrylic Adhesive caulk was used for wood to wood and wood to plexi and #16 plasitic cement for plexi to plexi connections. In addition joints were pinned wherever possible. Docks are PT 2x material clad with cedar stripwood. Windows are Simpson and front main door is Grandtline. Corrugated roofing is from Sodder, a very nice product and a lot neater than I could make myself with a crimper. The roof on the lean to is 3/16" plexi oversprayed with a textured granite spray. Everything except clear window areas was sprayed with several coats of Behlen’s Dead Flat Spray. The structure is lit with 12 volt bulbs and interior is painted black as there is no interior detail except for some lumber leaning against a wall just inside one window to give a feeling of depth. Structure is built for permanent installation outdoors and therefore no permanent exterior clutter is used. I do plan eventually to make independent “clutter piles, stacks” that can be placed at various points around structures, etc. and brought in each fall or when needed for cleaning.
