Cabeese

Cabooses? Anyway, here’s the current projects. A couple years ago, I got from Don Winter, some laser cut sides, ends, and coupolas that he had test cut, enough for 4 cabs. The sides are are too tall, and not long enough, for 1:20, so I basically got them for nothing. The window and door openings, and the coupolas, match up perfectly to the Sheridan Products long caboose that I have. So, with the rolling stock building going on, they were next on my project list. With some cutting and re-jiggering of the sides, here’s the first test-build.

The trucks on the right are some from Phil’s Narrow Gauge, and the ones on the left are regular Bachmann trucks. Im not sure what I’m going to use. I need to make leaf spring castings for the trucks, no matter what I use. Im also going to change the roof lines to be angled, instead of rounded, since curving the styrene and gluing it down is a bit of a nightmare. Also need to paint the insides BEFORE I assemble it and glue on the windows. Ah well. Thats why its a test build.
