Large Scale Central

Bye, bye (And thanks for the fish)

Not dead but I find that I can’t keep up any longer…(If I ever could?)

I’m still in Independent Living here but I can no longer Model due to the Parkinson’s in my dominant hand. Add prostate Cancer and I will turn 75 this coming Friday (04/03) oh well, Life IS Good.

Please send notes to my email…as I can’t hang around here!

Bruce;
You will be missed very much. I consider you a good friend and you have been a large part of LSC. Best of luck and keep in touch.

Sorry to hear this, but taking care of yourself is always most important. Take care.

Bruce,

i’m about ten months younger than you.
getting older and slower - they say, that’s normal for most of us.
and the prostata - who at our age hasn’t? (standing against a tree and leaking out a full quart under pressure… a distant memory)

but anyhow, i hope, that you rethink a little.
as far as i remember, we got no rule, that members have to visit the forum every day.
why not come in every now and then, when you feel good enough?

greets, korm

ps: and about the fish - not worth to mention. that were only the leftovers from the dolphins…

Glad to hear from you, but sad to hear from you too.
I will always remember you.
Hopefully, there is an alcove in Heaven where I will meet all my LSC friends again.

Bruce,
As BD stated, stay in touch and may you also know (which you already did) that you were a huge modeling asset/inspiration for all over many years on LSC.
Not to mention you were the very first to sign my virgin ass even though I never got to sign yours.

Take care my friend
:rooster:

Editing to add: I just noticed my old partner in train crime behind you in the first picture signing of the asses!!

In the large realm of Bruce’s throughout the world you leaving here will be missed. We are a good and moving kind of people, but even losing one Bruce is sad. I will carry on alone the banner held up high.
Until we Bruce’s gather again, Bruce!

I mean…

When I started here, I could always count on one person to react to my posts with pure Shock & Surprise :open_mouth:
I’d think, “Well, at least Bruce read it… and he was shocked. Maybe even surprised…”

Bloody Parkinson’s.
It has a way of slowing things down—in body and mind—but it doesn’t get to define the whole story. Bruce, just remember: that inertia is the enemy.

I can’t believe I’m about to twice quote Woody Allen here! (I know :open_mouth:!)

Strangely enough, Woody Allen once said, “Eighty percent of success is showing up.” Seems pretty relevant here at least for me.

With that in mind—and on a slightly self-serving note—if you ever feel up to it, I’d still love to see a wiki page on how you built that large-scale bank. :innocent: It remains one of my favourite builds of yours.

Either way, I hope you’ll keep popping in—
even if it’s just to drop the occasional :open_mouth:

Though we never met I have admired your work and knowledge from afar for many years.
I know it is difficult but try to stay engaged someway.

Bruce;

Take care and do join in if and when you can. Liked the reference to A Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy.

All the best, David Meashey

Bruce asked for notes by email, which I did just a few minutes after he posted this. I don’t think he planned on coming back to read replies, but I hope I’m wrong.

As I said in my email, you will be missed. I could always count on a reaction from you to nearly every post I made on LSC.

Bruce buddy we will be thinking of you. Good luck …

Thanks for the note, Bruce, and of course I’ll miss you greatly. Best wishes on recovering from various treatments; I’m on a similar trajectory with the prostate crap.

Thanks so much for keeping your web site up, it’s been such a blessing.

Hope we’ll meet at Jim K’s sometime. I’m suffering from most of what you have except I have eye issues and can still see my workbench.

Yes indeed. I sometimes persuade Jerry B (@naptowneng) to get the coach out.

I was thinking the same. Jerry has Camelia, I have Bruce’s other coach.

Thanks to Cliff one of Bruce’s cars made it’s way to the Shasta Pacific in August of 22.
Bruce built this car after visiting Dick Smith’s Port Orford Coast RR. Dick supplied the decals.

Bruce had passed the car to Cliff and he sent it on to me after I posted pictures of using one of Dick’s bridges at my mill pond site.
Thanks again Cliff.
