I just saw this tonite, with fellow large-scaler Marshall and my daughter Kiera.
When folks say this is one of the best train movies ever, they ain’t kiddin’. When they say Buster Keaton was a genius, they ain’t kiddin’ about that, either. I am just in awe right now. And no CGI, blue-screen, matte-painting fakery…absolutely every stunt and gag was STAGED…just amazing.
TOC, this ought to be required viewing for anybody who wants to operate at your place…it’s like a field guide on things NOT to do while operating a steam locomotive!
Anyway, Happy New Year everybody. Dave, I expect little Arwen and I will be out tomorrow. I’ve had a bout of bad health that required surgery, and I’m just getting some energy back. Today’s movie was my first recreational outting since, well, December 4th, actually. Ops at your place will be my second.
