Busted Locomotive's

Hello All;

          I was wondering, Does anyone have diesels that are busted up but have good trucks and power units that want to get rid of?

ALCO or EMD would be ok.

                                                                          Smokebox

Actually, I know how it is when we actually get things in the scrap box so let me retract the above statement,

   Where can we find parts for the different locomotives? Does Aristo or USA sell parts directly?
    Where are some authorized repairers for the different manufactures??

                                                                              Smokebox

Aristo sells motor blocks and a few other parts. USAT sells motor blocks and a few more parts than Aristo. HLW sells motor blocks and some parts. See Dave Goodson (Curmudgeon) for repair service.

Anyone know the size of MTH diesel motor blocks? Looking for a block a bit smaller than a USA one that I have. Thought their 1/32nd might be smaller. Any idea of where to order one from? Jerry

Three full squadrons of American Yorkshires will fly past in review, left to right, and do a combined climb-out, trumpet break and zoom-away [with red,white and blue smoke-ons] before you get a spare part out of MTH.

If you want a smaller motor block go to NWSL. They make a 1:32 four axle block. It’s a bit pricey though. Also, USAT makes at least 3 different size blocks: the GP9/GP38 block, the NW2/S4 block and then the block under the GE 44t.

Jerry, check also with Hartland. They do parts, though not many are listed on their web page. They are, however, very responsive to e-mail inquiries, at least in my experience. You may be well served with either their Mack motor block or the one in their interurban or Birney car.

Later,

K

If you register for Hartland’s specials page you get to see more parts (motor blocks) than on the regular web site.

Try Nicholas Smith Trains in Broomall Pa. At the York show he usually has a couple of boxes filled with pieces/parts of locos and cars.

Aristo Center Cab blocks are smaller than most
