Large Scale Central

Business Car project has started

My condolences John, Mike was a fine model builder.

I shipped my roof off to Shawmut Car Shops. Jeff is going to round out the roof, add the exterior rear light and populate the roof with junk…

The wife and I today were once again laying out the interior.

I’m going to ignore that comment!

You are gonna need to build Superliners next John!

His and her’s?

Dark green no stripe

edited to add High gloss and all Brass trim

Dave,

The car on the left is Red River, the car on the right is a different car. I can’t make out the name on the side. Compare pictures of the rear end of the Red River. Most visible is the shape of the roof, and the half circle cut out over the coupler. So far from the pics the John posted the Red River has a white strip down the side. I’m not sure which scheme is the original scheme, but I’m leaning towards the BN Green with the white strip. The darker color looks more like the Executive Paint scheme that was done later.

Yep and he’s building a business car. I just put up my choice and based it only on my taste.

Yep the dark green car it is. I shot those photos at King Street Station in Seattle, August 1986, working my way north to Steam Expo.

You gonna pull that behind your Amtrak consist?

Yes, it will be behind the Amtrak consist. Master craftsman Jeff from Shawmut Car Shops (http://shawmutcarshops.com/) is building a custom roof with all the goodies along with a set of decals.

Master craftsman he is John, he did me a great Bi-centennial reefer.

This excites me!

haha. Just waiting on the roof from Jeff. I also picked up an Aristo Milw pullman car that I’m probably going to add to the consist.

WE WANT PICTURES!

Or it didn’t happen

okay okay~~

Roof is Ready, decals are in, guess I need to get going on this again.

Looking forward to seeing it on the car
