Another project that I didnt photograph as I was building the major components is the storage building for Burke Yard. This will sit near the yard office. It’s one of my EBT steel boxcar shells, up on some resin blocks, with a cedar platform and steps. Still needs a bunch of detailing, signs, etc

I have a too old for my rr wooden Bachmann boxcar, was going to sell it , but might now do something like this with it. Cool idea !

this is a very common thing to do and is very prototypical. St Maries River Railroad had 2 old wood sided box cars from the Milwaukee that were set beside the shop and used for storage.
Yeah I remember seeing them all over central California , just had not really crossed my mind again until this thread.
