Bullfrog snot

Anybody tried this stuff or even heard about it? I read about it in Narrow Gauge and Shortline Gazette. Jim Vail uses it on his HO suff. Supposed to increase the pulling power of your locos when applied to the wheels.

I had never heard of it till I read that article.

If you like USAT’s rubber tires, you will love this stuff.

Sorry…Got woke up to early, had to put the doggie out, But this product name is funny…
Ken…Wonder if anyone here has tried it?

Well, I ordered some, so I’ll give it a try, and yea, the name could be better…

Bullfrog Snot is a traction rubber generally used on smaller scales to compensate loss of traction from wheels that use traction rubber tyres. Any oil, grease or rubbish on the rail decreases the performance of the tyres causing them to slip.

The Bullfrog Snot is slowly applied to a spinning wheel fitted with a traction groove, allowing the amount to build up on the wheel. The wheel is then rotated for several minutes and then is ready to use. It must be replaced periodically.

Those who use it speak highly of its performance.

There were posts about this on here just a few weeks ago, someone was wanting their rod engines to climb 10% grades and was wondering if this product would do the job.

I think a geared loco would have a problem on a 10% grade. I was going to try it on one of my 10 wheelers and see if it has any effect. The only steep grade I have is the Burns Jct. track that goes into the garage window.

Frog snot is sticky stuff.
I’m a frog. All I have to do is pinch my nose, build up the back pressure some, aim for the wheels and let 'er go.
Chicks really dig it when they see me do that.
