Building the CR&N Deadline:July 2017

Devon

Is this party this weekend?

You need to get the party out of the way and get back to the layout or at least the cabinet!!!

The party is Thursday evening. But I also have two final projects due for school this weekend. I am working somewhat in the back ground. I am having a heck of a time finding one company that will supply all of what I need for my siding. But I think I finally found one. Apparently Hardie (the company) is somewhat hard to deal with. Anyway they all carry some of what I need but not all of it. The vertical board and batten look is not very common. So getting the panels, trim boards, batten boards and shingle panels I want all in one place is proving to be difficult without having to order entire units. But I think I found one. So Friday I am taking my list down to get a price and see if i can even afford it.

That needs to happen really next. I can build the cabinet its out of the way of the siding. I also could start setting post on the fence side and build the ladder on the fence side. So I can get some stuff done.

We will see what I can do this weekend.

Pictures are Great!

Well I can take pictures of my homework if you want but I am afraid it won’t be very interesting to most. Not to mention it would have to be heavily redacted because of the prohibition on religious discussion. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

We don’t want excuses Mister, we want results! Hat in hand we accepted you as pleeb, to mentor and expand your awareness.

The last thing we think you need is Cross Pollinated Priorities! So wrap up the foolishness and let’s get down to some serious play!

One of Many,

John

Hear hear!

You tell em John!

Ok, I will shut up, and go back to butt modeling.

well, David, do you know, what is the difference between you and Devon?

just one “t” !

while you are a butt-modeler, he is a but-modeler (i do it, but… )

Korm, that’s funny.

Thanks

So, does all this mean that our road trip to Train Mountain is off?(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)

Happy 25th Wedding Anniversary to Devon and Darcy!

Well she said yes. Thanks. For the well wishes. Order siding today and will start building the cabinet

Ummm, Yeah. Besides I wouldn’t want to be accused of not getting the RR done

No, I am finally passed the honey-do list phase. I went with different materials for the siding based on a couple recommendations, so I just had a delivery to my house of all the siding materials. I will start cutting the furing strips tonight, I have to rip 2X4s down to 1" thick pieces. Then I can wake up and start putting up the strips and insulation. Then I have a 8" thick base trim piece then on that will go the rough sawn cedar siding, then on top of that will be a 6" trim board. On the siding will be the battons. Above all of that i the peak section I will have shingles. I know you can’t picture it, I promise pictures as I go.

I do have me work cut out for me now.

See, Devon can’t even follow plan A on his siding project. So we know he isn’t going to be following plan whatever, for the railroad build. What is up to by now? Plan N, or Plan Q? (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

Speaking of the railroad, when are you going to post pictures of the golden spike ceremony Devon? (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-undecided.gif)

Somehow I missed the pictures of the ground breaking ceremony. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif)

We are along ways away from the golden spike. And I took the wife around today to look at color schemes and now even the design of the siding has changed a bit. Still board and batten but with a flare.

Devon, flairs, or added details, are great consumers of time. And time is running away from you. (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)

I know you’ve already purchased material but have you ever heard of, “Maintenance Free”, Vinyl siding. Goes on easy, not painting, and you can just hose off any dirt once a year. I love it on my house because I never have to paint again.
