Building Red Rock Canyon

Here’s how I built the Red Rock Canyon section of my layout. It’s about a year of work compressed into a couple of minutes. Lots of photos taken during the construction set to music. Shows how I make my ladder roadbed out of PVC and how I deal with drainage problems. A few shots of the grandkids helping out with the roadbed and running trains.

That was wonderful Bob.

Cool, Nice work…

Nicely done Bob! That’s a very impressive amount of work you’ve accomplished. …I like the name too!

That is cool Bob, Do you know Bob Gardine?

Bob, great video thanks for sharing.

Bob, very nice.

question on the ladder roadbed. It looks like you have the spacers horizontal between the stringers. How did you attach the stringers to the spacers?

Thanks

Ward

The spacers are glued between the stringers with PVC cement. Here is a drawing to show how the ladder roadbed goes together.

Bob,

What an excellent video to show a start to finish section of a garden railroad. Should be required viewing.

Is you track anchored to the ladder or does it float using the ladder for guidance only?

Bob C.

Bob,

Thanks for the drawing.

Nice work.
