Bruce that is looking very good, I did not see your thread on the vented car, went to that today, it was a very good thread.
I have always loved to follow your postings, so I will be following this one, and go backed to the vented one, and maybe make one for myself.

Before I painted everything, I stuck some pieces of tape on the roof walk parts so I wouldn’t have to scrape the paint off when I wanted to glue on the wood pieces.

On the real deal for a car of the era yours would fall in to the outer roof that we see was considered expendable and was there to slow down wear of the watertight inner roof. Those wide boards along eaves were often mounted with a gap between them and car side so water could drain from inner roof. Given that situation a little imperfection is probably more perfect than full perfection.

Mine are visible peeking over incomplete car side. Even though they are in that car I’ll probably build one just for the decals. At the rate those cars and the catenary are being made, don’t hold your breath till it happens - how are you at holding your breath for eight years?
