Hello Some pics from the process to build and accurating a chassis and traction section of a V360 Diessel Locomotive. Well, to rest a little bit of the buildings, I decided to build a locomotive V360 Diessel. This kit is static, but with a little imagination you can easily motorized. The manufacturer says it is 1:35 scale, but once you open the box and with the micrometer in hand, you realize that the model is at 1:32 scale very rigorous. Except for one thing, the width of the axes are just 2.5 millimeters closer. It is not 1:32 scale or 1:35 scale.
Well, on that basis, all you have to do is change the axis, and add 1.25 mm clearance on each side. Here you can see how I replaced the lines of a metallic plastic.
The theme of the wheels, is curious. Those that come in the box are a little larger than those used by purists on proto32. (how you can see in the picture)
Now that the lines are cut, verify that the mechanization of them is correct. (I must say that I was forced to throw away 4-axis, having an eccentric diversion.)
After cutting the shaft and placed in the axle boxes, I work to align the assembly with a laser. First we see how there is a slight deviation in the foundations of the spring …
After correction, is perfectly aligned.
Here we can see the drive unit assembled and painted. I did not post pictures of this process to not boring.
That’s it for today. I hope tomorrow will be able to post an update of the topic. Greetings Xavier
