Thanks Jake. It’s down in my basement with the rest of the locomotives. I need to contact Phoenix - my sound card stopped working for some reason. It’s on my todo list.

“Mike” the headless Chicken lived for 18 months… This thread is outliving that by a long shot!
I don’t know…3 years to get an extra page???

If its a real Phoenix, it should be able to come back to life, just like this thread.
I just read this fantastic thread that started before I was a member here. It is a fantastic model by a master modeler. Is there video of it in operation? (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

I’m sure Bruce has some video somewhere. He put it up for sale recently.

Thanks Joe! I plan to shoot some video, but I don’t think I have any yet. Us old farts find it really hard to get up to date. (Maybe I can get my old movies upgraded to digital? (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif))

Bruce
I’m an old fart too (69). I sure would love to see some video of that Mike in use. (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Is this the same Mikado that is forsale with video that is embedded on the forsale thread ?

Would you point me to that video? All I see is a video, posted by Bruce, of his Connie that he is selling. (https://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-frown.gif)

Joe, here is the for sale thread, but the video is of the Connie not the Mikado.(https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

That was EXACTLY my point! “All I see is a video, posted by Bruce, of his Connie that he is selling.”
Rooster is not a steam guy, they all look the same to him. (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-wink.gif)
Senior moment …for Bruce I would think.
This is a long, old thread, but useful, as someone recently asked me about making an EBT Mikado from scratch. Bruce passed me the link to his website which has all the pictures:
http://jbrr.com/locomotives/mikado.html
As I just re-read nearly every post in this thread; I’ve had a few thoughts (yes, that can be dangerous)…
@TheJoat Don’t you miss all of this since divesting of your shop? I know you have had a lot of life issues to take your time since then.
And, as I look at all the painstaking scratch details, I see a dying art. With the ability to create all of these parts digitally and then print them, we probably will see less and less of this level of scratch building. Not to say the CAD modelers are not talented. Just as I can’t model to this level, I can’t do 3D CAD either! I tried, but I have a 2 D brain!
Edit to add a note to @PeterT - I see all the original pictures in the thread. I did change my browser settings a while ago to force links and references to https://
