Hey Ralph it's page two. If all you're going to do is show us bits and pieces of a loco you can't figure out what to do with, send it this way and we'll get a build going. :) ;)
This is coming from a man who showed us 45 pictures of a partially shingled roof.................and still has a clock tower, with no clock ;) I'm thinkin that was your dog pissin on the trains. You know what they say about dogs takin on their master's habits :D. Ralph

Ralph, Your mistaken at the age when you receive social security and pensions you only pee in you pants and certainly are not able to lift your leg without falling down. ;)

I think the copper on the Buddy L was plated and not paint. The copper between the smoke box and boiler had turned green. I left a little copper…just for Rooster. Now I have to find a copper paint for the air tank bands. Snowing tonight. It may be a while before I can spray any paint. Ralph

You have shaken the “Copper Gods”

Finally some progress. Looks good Ralph. Is this your challange project?

No progress. Just piddlin waiting for some nice weather to paint. I decided to use a smoke stack from a Big Hauler. I think it looks better than the Buddy L stack. Going to have to do something about the bell. Looks cheesey next to the copper. Ralph

No. My job is to get all you yahoos involved ;) But if you enter......I'll build something. Ralph

Ralph if nothing else people will not be able to call your color schemes boring. Put a yellow and blue strip on that and I think you will have covered the rainbow.

If everyone had a perfectly weathered black loco.........it would become the norm and no longer special. So, I'm taking one for the "team" Ralph

I slapped it together, sans plumbing and detail parts, to see how it looks. I think I’m going to repaint the cab. Need to tweak the red/black combination. Ralph

Yes, That would help. I've had this thing in pieces for a long time. Ralph

Ralph,
Try this link

Then look under steam on the left scrool bar and color the pictures till you get what you want

I like that copper

Looking good, Ralph!

I put three pounds of lead in mine, that gave it plenty of traction even on my steep grades. Had to replace the motor after a while though, and not long after that I gave up on running it as everything else seemed to be wearing out. By that time I had my sweet BBT loco anyway.

you could: Add black to the bottom of the cab=red stripe in the middle for you lettering…

overall-that looks much better!

That is along the lines of what I was thinking. Bring the black down a little lower from the top and add some black to the bottom.
I think I’ll add some black to the domes too, so I have a red stripe above the boiler and another below the dome caps.

Dave M,
That is a pretty neat little tool. Thanks.
Ralph

The weather this Winter has made painting a tough task. When temps do hit 50 degrees, winds have been 50mph and more. So, 35 and sunny has been the best I’ve had for painting. And there haven’t been a lot of those days either. With all the projects I have needing paint, I managed to get the Buddy L somewhat finished. I had problems with the domes. They need repainted. But that will wait for Spring. I took out some of the red to tone it down. Ralph
