One question… that’s Plastruct brick siding? Or Evergreen?
Randy McDonald said:Actually it's from Precision Products (http://www.appliedimaginationinc.com/precision_products/). You can get it from Ridge Road Station or Ozark Miniatures.

Sheets are 15" square.
I’m doing it a bit different this time. Last time I cut the window openings and applied the sheet to the side of the building. This time, I’m going through my scrap box and piecing it all together. I’m just about ready to start a full sheet - it’s been all scraps up until now.
Bought a Piko chimney, eh? Wonder where you got that idea?

Is this building going to be as big as Mathesons? Will it be able to hold as many cars as that building? Just curious…
Ken, according to Bruce’s very first entry, yes…
ah ha…don’t know how I missed that…thanx Andy…guess your good for sumthin…
Nope… It’s quite a bit smaller. Matheson’s is 42" long by 24" wide. Buchanan will be 24" long x 18" wide. Matheson’s holds 14-15 cars. This will hold 6.
ahhhh, I didn’t realize there was such a size difference… I read that ““Just like Matheson’s Textile””, and assumed it was the whole building, not just the working of the roof… sorry, Ken… I mis-understood…
see, now I can go back to ““Good for nothing””…
And the balance has been restored
Got the walls up. All sides are glued together, including the “floor”.

This is my second attempt at the cover for the loading dock; the first one was eaten up by the E-6000 cement. This time I used 3M Spray Adhesive. Still no word from USPS on my missing styrene. Though they did send me a customer satisfaction survey to complete.
Looking good Bruce. I really need to give this stuff a try for builings.
Just don’t run the chimney up through the doors or windows…
My second order of parts was actually delivered! Time to get some work done. Here’s a shot of the windows after being framed and painted.

I was going to build a fancy door for the loading dock, until I realized that I’d never really see it. Instead I scribed a line on a piece of foamed PVC and painted it black. I still need to add some escutcheon pins for doorknobs. But at least it was easy to make.

One of my treasures from Jon was a big sheet of 1/4" plastic. I cut that in half and used it for the roof. I added some .100" half round. Now it just needs some paint.

Hehehe…you can see the lettering on the reverse side.

Doing a bunch of touch up. Painting the bricks is a real pain, and I find spots where the paint didn’t get in the grout area. I think I have all the areas covered. Gary operated on my layout a few years back, and I found a nice picture of him by my yard.

I made the sign with my Brother P-Touch.

The roof is done using Sophisticated Finishes product. I use the iron surfacer first, followed by a couple of coats of their rust. Each coat has to take 24 hours to dry.

I debated adding another coat of the rust stuff, but I like the look; not sure that another coat might screw it up. Next, I want to put a wash of india ink and alcohol to tone down the colors, especially the cream. I also need to get some screen to put behind the round windows. .
Love the roof look. The rust will get worse/different/change over time anyway. It looks fine the way it is.
Excellent!
I really like the way the little bit of trim on the windows really finished them off, and that roof came out great. Nice work Brucce
