Large Scale Central

BTW one more insolvency

Faller-Pola follows some of the other mfgs.

The industry grapevine had been humming for quite some time with the usual indicators based on various reports.

I guess I’m rather fortunate to have just about all the trains I need or want. If they all went out of business, it wouldn’t bother me much. Of course that won’t happen. But I do hate to see many fine train manufacters and good home town stores go under though. I guess it’s just the sign of the times ?

I have all the trains that I need, just ask my wife! :stuck_out_tongue:

Do I have all the trains that I want? Not on your life!

Good heavens! I saw your post and thought you were broke!!

Ah, will there be consolidation via buy-outs or disapearance?

I remember HO’s Varney, Bowser, and Model Die Casting all bidding farewell.
Still Atlas and Athern have their presence in HO.

Meanwhile, strangely, Model Railroader mails to the Garden Railroad’s mailing list an ad for a book on the “10 Best Model Railroads.” Gasp! Not one outdoor railroad listed.
Sigh…the marketing of the non-existence continues.

Bowser is still around http://www.bowser-trains.com/

They have ceased production of their steam loco kits (inherited from PennLine?)

Quote:
We have discontinued production of STEAM LOCO KITS. Small batches of kits may be produced (from existing parts) if enough backorders are placed. Customers may place a backorder by phone fax or email. We will notify you if the kits are produced. As the supply of existing parts is exhausted most items will not be remade.
But they are still making other stuff.

Bowser originally had a UP Challenger, NYC Pacific, a 4-8-2 Mountain and an E unit diesel. They later bought out Penn Line which offered Pennsy prototypes 4-4-2, 2-8-2, 2-10-0, 4-4-4-4, 2-8-0 and I think a 4-6-2.
