The “Australian” newspaper carried a background article on the Democratic convention today. It contained these gems:
"A cowboy with a sense of humour drove by in a truck with a large sign erected in the back: “I support the right of married same-sex couples to carry concealed firearms. And I vote.”
Nearby, Bruce Chandler’s enemies lay a-waiting:
“On the opposite corner, a couple without a sense of humour handed out leaflets accusing US birdwatchers of seeking ‘vicarious sexual gratification in the woods’ by watching as birds mated. The leaflet noted surveys that found birdwatchers to be more sexually active than non-birdwatchers.”
The first one had me chuckling, but the second left me close to tears!
