Interesting railroad
Mind boggling!
Yup. Dr Chubb is incredibly talented, and has had a major impact on my RR hobby. I still have the copy of “How to Operate your Model Railroad” from when I was a kid. Its dog-eared and beat up, but I still look through it.
The issue of Scale Rails that was (mostly) all about him and his layouts is a great read, too. When he moved, he purpose-designed the basement for his new layout.
Is this the same Sunset Valley that goes back to the late 70’s?
I have it in a book from that era along with Bob Hegge’s Crooked Mountain line.
No. In th early 2000s they moved to a new, much bigger house. He purpose-built the basement, including excavating under the garage, for the new RR. It even has its own entrance, to avoid people tromping through the living area of the house.
