Today, BP was successful in placing a wedding ring over the Gulf well pipe,
and it immediately stopped putting out.
I sent them my wife’s, with a note on what to do with it.

LOL I just read that to my wife and she said they probabley needed time to manufacture the ring. Shes blonde LOL LOL Then after about a minute she said oh I get it.

The one who is called “6” is/was always the call sign suffix of the commander, i.e. “Red Dog 6”. “Actual” meant the commander himself, not his radioman.
So if a platoon leader wanted to talk directly with the company commander he would call, “Red Dog 6; This is Red Dog 13”.
