Les,

What if one simply wanted to be able to market PIKO out from under the LGB name and still retain any existing rights to LGB? Conspiracy theories are fun because they are so complex, but the truth is often very straight forward.

If you want to put that crystal ball to good use, peek and see what PIKO is doing with that big new factory in China!

Jack

Jack,

That is such a clever idea, did you learn that from “The Boys”? Wasn’t it two years ago when eyebrows were elevated as that “clever plan” went into full gear, with the first “real” indication being all those goodies that were up for grabs at the 125th celebration in Nürnberg.

On that plant in China, if Dr. Wilfer is to be believed - no reason not to - lots and lots of stuff for the smaller scales, with the "G"ummi stuff staying in Sonneberg. Quite logical, really, a simple matter of logistics aka how much value in each cubic being shipped.

Save your breath Jack. These guys know everything- they’ve got crystal balls!

So why not just change the company name to - say - PIKOoA?
Why a new company?
What about all those other companies with distribution agreements with LGBoA? Were they also concerned about the LGBoA name?
Still confused.
Les

Les,

They need a bit of “eXtra flexibility”, which means not putting all the eggs in one basket, apart from that they would have to get Dr.Wilfer’s permission to be PIKOofA. But from what I read and hear, Dr.Wilfer likes his own “flexibility”, too.

I almost split my orange juice reading that - I must remember to be eXtra careful in future!

Yes Jack, there are people with balls.   Those who didn’t go to Parrot School are usually among them. :stuck_out_tongue:  :stuck_out_tongue:

The failing comes when you mistake balls for brains.

Quite true … but then it’s even worse if you have neither. That is a major mistake/failing, almost on par with believing that Google and Bablefish translation are “just fine”. :stuck_out_tongue: Yesterday’s News from http://www.lgb-rheinsieg.de/de/spurgnews/neu270508.htm

Only you could explain what that condition is like!

Thanks for the nostalgic photo. What wonderful Lehmann mementos! I have several of the items downstairs.

Too bad Märklin couldn’t come up with something original!

Jack, nice try at a deflection, but you wouldn’t make a good goalie. Best stick to kollekting, that’s your stick: Buy and be done! :stuck_out_tongue:

Couldn't be more wrong! If you ever get the chance, take a look at Depesche #58! Of course that was way, way before your arrival in the world of LGB.

It’s pretty arrogant to assume that one person’s hobby is more important than someone else’s. Not quite sure why the "scale modelling " element of model trains outranks the “researching and collecting” element. Seems like some folks have a much higher estimation of themselves than they actually deserve.

Marvin,

Time to start reading and comprehending; there was no value assigned to kollekting.
BTW a long time ago I read one of Jack’s contributions regarding the different versions of the LGB 3064 (the quasi RhB heavy weight) listing all the fine variations and ignoring that there wasn’t a prototype. LGB’s “model” was based on an Austrian “model”, but hey if you’re a Kollektor, who cares, eh?!?

Of course it is of no importance that wasn't the purpose of the article. I love how anytime you are squeezed or challenged you just shift the argument. I bet you were a big fan of magic (misdirection) when you were a kid. Prestidigitation? I did enjoy seeing the new tee shirt on the site you posted. "On a mission for Märklin". How many did you order?

Read #58 from 1988, I’m sure somebody you know has one.

For those who don’t know, this whole conflict started years ago when Herr HJ made his late arrival into the World of LGB only to discover that he had missed the lovely RhB GREEN era Ge 4/4 II. When he couldn’t find one for a price he thought reasonable, he started attacking collectors wholesale. Wa! Wa! Wa!
It didn’t matter a twit to him that most people had purchased one for the very same reasons he wanted one. So in the end he focused all his attention on THE Kollector. It didn’t matter a bit that his attitude got him thrown off half a dozen forums. But he has found a home here and I come to visit on occasion. I do apologize to those that have been forced wade through this. So I will end it here. I do hope to post from time to time, but I will return to my normal positive attitude and celebrate the joys of the hobby.

We wish you luck keeping a positive attitude , and to share the joy of large scale .
With time and positive posts , maybe some problems will scab over and heal .

Jack,

Have you ever noticed how you shift the argument

 1. Actually we had a set of those handpuppets and used to put on plays for the neighbourhood kids.

 2. I’ve got all the T-shirts I want or need. I even have an absolute favourite T-Shirt

 3. I got a GREEN Ge4/4" at the price I was aiming at, without all the LGB electronic junk … I could wait for the “right price” Attacking collectors wholesale would be a mug’s game

 4. Counting is elementary; fora or banks, gotta count right, for that you need to get your facts straight  Remember last year it was one bank holding out but it turned out it was only one bank supporting the LGBoA bid.

 5. More crusher chips, peat moss and top soil to mix, I do that with a positive attitude lets me enjoy the hobby and once the planting is done the joy will be even greater

Always have to get the last word in, eh?
