It’s 3AM. I’m sitting here wide awake and worried sick. I don’t know where Kim is or when she’ll be back. And it’s nothing I’ve done…

Kim’s niece Nick has been living with her boyfriend and their 2 year-old daughter. Ed is not a very nice person. He won’t get a job. He has a cookie on the side. He HAS a police record…for domestic violence. He belittles and insults Nick. And he hits her. Tonight he hit her, HARD. Hard enough her jaw is swollen and she can barely talk.

Time after time Nick has made excuses for his behavior. She’s left, only to go back, over and over because she “loves him”. She says her family is to blame for “interfering” because they are all worried sick about her, AND her daughter. Tonight marked the point of no return. Kim called the police BEFORE her niece ends up in a body bag. Meanwhile, Nick is STILL making excuses.

If you know someone in a similar situation. Find a way to get them help. If you are in a situation GET OUT. If you are doing stuff like this yourself, get help NOW. The situation won’t get better by itself, only worse. It’s EVERYBODY’S business… Break the cycle TODAY.

It is time you, Nicks dad and brothers, your brothers and sons, and all male relatives have a nice visit with this Ed guy.
Nothing violent. Just all show up at once, looking mean.
If he doesn’t get the idea…

My niece married an abuser (she didn’t know he abused at the time. Not only her, but my grand niece as well.)
Myself, My three brothers and their sons showed up at their place one night for a visit and they had the marriage annulled the next day.

Unfortunately, Nick's DAD is an abuser, it took her mom years to admit it and get out. From what I've heard Nick's GRANDFATHER was one as well..... As for ME, I'm afraid it wouldn't stop at LOOKING mean. (I think he's too arrogant and stupid to get the point if it did) Cowards who hit women DESERVE to have their ass kicked, repeatedly, until they truly FEEL the message....BUT I'm not sure that violence is really a cure for violence. Helping Ed to take a long walk in the local quarry lake wearing concrete Keds would solve the problem, too. But what would that make ME?

Addendum; One of the TRULY frightening things about THIS situation is that HIS parents KNOW pretty much what’s going on, but choose to believe his version, AND SUPPORT HIM!!! They have threatened her that if she leaves Ed THEY will seek custody of the 2YO claiming Nick is an “unfit mother”… I got guff for using the word “EVIL” before, but what else can you call it?
