BRAWA RhB G 4/5 Consolidation

Hi all, This is the present my wife bought me for my 60th birthday, it was delivered shortly after my 61st

The wait was worth it, 1:22.5 scale, Dietz sound and decoder, runs like a Swiss watch (it is powered by a Swiss Maxon motor) and and and. I’ll set up the video cam on the tripod and take some footage (won’t happen this week), the crawl speed with the exactly synchronised exhaust of the cylinders is absolutely amazing. For Mike M to drool over: the sound has a separate cylinder blowdown feature.  the other neat thing is the “engine running light or with train” feature. With train means you hear the brake squeal of the coaches, light you just get the engine brake squeal.

But , you see , mine is not a consolidation , it is a Swiss RhB loco .
And I got mine first , yah boo sucks . It’s by Kiss .
Mike
BTW , your wife has good taste . Nice pressie .

Mike,

You need to talk to some of the blokes on the RhB next time you’re there, they actually call 107 and 108 “Consolidations”. And you’ll find the same moniker in the Claude Jeanmaire steam book.

Besides, calling it a G4/5 only wouldn’t mean much to the crew here, but we all know what a Connie is, don’t we??

Hans ,
I must confess , when I went round the workshops at Landquart , I don’t remember the mention of "consolidation " . But I was so excited at being there , I even forgot to take pictures .
Nice crowd of blokes there , very professional , rightly proud of their work .
Mike

Hi Mike,

Forgot to take pictures?? Hmmmmmmmmm tsk tsk tsk!

Any of the guys I ever talked to on the RhB are nice and the lady in the Bahnladen office always adds a little extra, as does Marcel in the Bahnladen.

Matter of fact he has a treasure trove of extra items for those in the know. That stuff isn’t listed in the catalogue.

Stuff that makes me exclaim “Holy moses, where did you dig these up!!”

Congradulations HJ , a very nice locomotive indeed . Hope to enjoy the videos of it operating , thanks .

Saw one of those last summer at the convention. Ok, I don’t remember if it was the Consolodation. What a thing of beauty! Congradulations.

I’ll post some video (with sound, naturally!) later, right now I’m busy getting product out the door!!! Not even time to answer a
