You may have seen this trolley on ebay. I’m very excited to have purchased this trolley in F scale, but unfortunately it didn’t come with a box, manual or any information other than it was made in the 80’s by Gang-San Korea. If you have any information on what road or city this trolley would have belonged, photos, or other information it would be greatly appreciated. Although it is banged up, I’m going to do my best to restore this unit, paint and decal appropriately if I can get information on it. There are several parts in the bag I have no idea what they are for or where they go. I am sure I will need to fabricate some missing parts. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I think this is the 1906 Brill Semi Convertible imported by GHB International. They have an active website: ghbintl.com Contact the owner and he may provide details. I think this type of car was used all over North America. In the warm weather it was run as an open car, the windows and frames were removed or they swung up and were stored inside under the roof of the car. The trucks are called “maximum traction” and used only one motor and drive axle per truck. 75% of the weight was over the drive axle. They worked well on lines with moderate or no grades. A neat model -good luck.
Thats a very cool model. Cant wait to see how you proceed restoring it.
Thanks for the tip Ron. I’ll contact GHB and see what I can find out. It’s going to be a bit of work, but the end result should be worth while. I love traction and it’s a dream to get this in F scale.
Neat model and good luck with your research! …I kinda have a hidden dark side for traction stuff myself…http://www.ghbintl.com/
Found another one! I thought I was the only one…http://interurbansofthefoxvalley.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
