Boxes! I hate 'em!

I know this has been hashed before.
Yesterday I moved my 200 or so empty boxes again…
For the fourth or fifth time.
I’m seriously tempted to move them one last time: to the incinerator!

Anyone interested in a box smashing party?

Oh, those are LGB, USA, Accu, Delton, Aristo, Bachmann, etc boxes.

Toss 'em in the attic. They make great mouse bedding.

My boxes fill my loft space . (Oh dear , bragging again !) .
I claimed insulation allowance for it being loft insulation .
As there is almost a total dictatorship in the UK , we have to comply with all the global warming myths .
Being able to say I have plenty of lagging shuts up those pompous planks who bleat on about energy escaping . Then drive off to the overheated council offices all of 100 yards away They also never switch off the megawatts of lights at night—or daytime .
Anyway , I am not a proper model fan , all the boxes are red and green .

How about recycling them?

Since my stuff doesn’t run unless I go somewhere, I use my boxes. Some are getting rather beat-up.

Very few of the LGB boxes are pristine.
They have been used in prior years to store the cars when not in use.
So the flaps are worm or missing, the windows may be missing, the inner part may be missing.
The tops and bottoms scuffed, etc.
You don’t want them, Jack.

Funny, I see them on ebay sometimes! I collect a thing or two but I just cannot fathom spending cash for an empty box. Still, you never know, could be sitting on a gold mine!

I had two identical carriages for sale , by LGB .
One sold on commission for £230 , the other for £195 .
As I had recently bought both items for less , I was quite happy , but rather surprised .
Moral —keep your boxes----wrapped if you can .
Genuine Dinky Toy boxes (empty) generally add 15% to the selling price if you have the appropriate model to put in it .
Don’t do what I did , and put the wrong toys in the wrong box , it does not create a good impression .
Oh , and leave the original price stickers , markings or whatever on . You will damage the box removing them . Let the buyer do it .

Old price stickers are very interesting. Several of my LGB battery powered sets have their original stickers and they lead one to the many different department stores that sold lehmann toys at one time. Besides it's fun to know that your $10. little diecast model car once sold for 25 cents.

My boxes get recycled. Except loco boxe. I keep those just incase they have to go in for repairs. I’m keepin my stuff till i die. My wife can deal with gettin rid of em after that.

Terry!
Those are my thoughts as well.
I will be off to the recycling bin with a bunch of flat cardboard.

The boxes are still going to elevate the price , even after we all become priceless .
