I thought I’d show off the boxcab I did for my buddy Tom’s Fish Creek RR. Its based on a Bachmann 45T power truck and is currently running on 4 NiMh with a DPDT switch to control direction. Eventually an RC unit (probably RCS EVO) will be installed. Its built to 1:29 scale as that what Tom is modeling. It really is fun to watch trundling around towing a boxcar or flatcar behind. Its not a very good pic in that you really see the light weathering but it gives you an idea of what it looks like. Dave
Dave it’s looking good. Are you using it to haul that box car to the paint shop?

Cool, Mongo LIKE!
Neat!
Thanks guys. Yea, Dave the boxcar is next to get paint. Its made from some parts of some old wooden kits along with a bunch of scratchbuilt detail parts, I picked up a long time ago. I scaled it to 1:24 scale but it seems a bit short (as in not tall) to me. I’m modeling 1:24, 42"gauge on my shelf layout.

Dave,
That’s some beautiful work! I would love to see more photos, please. I’d also love to more info on the on the layout, especially the track plan. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks Mario. I have to take some more pics of the boxcab. My indoor layout is a very simple 123’ mainline run around the walls of my basement. Most of it is only about 7-8" wide except for one short wall and a 16’ section on one of the long walls where the shelf is 24-28" deep. On these areas I have a passing siding , a regular siding and a 19" diameter turntable. I’m running two small 2-4-0’s (conversions on old Bachmann Porters) and a Lehmann Porter. All are battery/RC. The track is handlaid code 250 aluminium on cedar ties I cut.
Chuckle chuckle Chris!
