Boomer's "Hannibal 9" Mik's Build Challenge 2015

Ok, this is starting to look serious. I’m taking a step or two back now.

“Push the button Max!”

“What exactly does Max’s button do? Even the Professor is not sure. Feel free to offer suggestions.”

Afterburner?

Flamethrower?

Rail mounted torpedo?

Honks the horn…

Maybe its an ejection seat coupled with a self destruct explosive When the machine goes out of control, it can be destroyed, so as to protect property near the scene of the “event”.

…winking…

You folks name your cows?

And she likes a hillbilly band?

Keep having fun!

John

I think Max’s button will start the fireworks to signal the Winner of not only the land speed record but also Mik’s Build Challenge 2015.

There is so much to like about that Fantastic Machine you, I mean Prof. Fate is building.

Wow, how some people spend their time, and what an imagination… This thread has turned out to be a whole lot of fun… Thanks for the laughs, Boomer!

Now I’ve just got to check out the other entries… Sure are a lot of 'em.

Can you please address the rumor I was told that the Professor and his henchman are currently wanted by French authorities for the destruction of the Eiffel Tower by cannon shot?

Leave the chickens out of it!

I should inform the Dear Professor that he’s still remembered in Borracho for dam near burning the town down back in '08 in a drunken rage when it was a stop in the around the world race. And that any attempt to deliver any legal documents might very well be met with an angry mob. Crowds gathered last night at the train station awaiting the Profs lawyers intent on a 'tar ‘n feather party’

My Crack Science Ninja Team just laughed and said “oh’ deary me” when told of the threatened legal action, stating that unlike Fate’s primitive 4th-of-July black-powder powered contraption,

The Red Comet is a high tech modern device utilizing the latest in nuclear ion propulsion, the details of which are still highly classified.

As for Char Aznable, he’s still considered an AEUG rebel and a Neo-Zeon separatist on Earth and as such is subject to immediate arrest if he ever returns to Earth, therefore his legal claims have no real enforcement. Besides lately he’s apparently become a bit of a car nut and not so concerned about his nickname.

Some people have entirely TOO much free time on their hands…

yeah… I hardly have time to read the stuff…

I just wonder how much value of stuff Boomer has put into his contraption, and, 'tho it’s great that he got off his duff to build something this winter, I wonder whether such high value ‘junk’ as this is within the spirit of Mik’s original intention or methods???

I mean, half a model T? Half a Locomotive? A whole bunch of Sci-Fi kits and half a dozen figures? I’m sure Mik never had such high-end stuff in his junk collection!

However, Boomer is for sure providing us with plenty of good laughs!

John ya gotta to play to judge our rules!

I think he nailed Rule #1

See anything that’s not; Have fun?

OK then…

John

Just to be clear, I’m not accusing Boomer of cheating. As far as I know he’s not breaking any rules. There’s only one rule: have fun, and we’re all having a whole lot of fun with this. This is a challenge, not a competition, and my comments are of course not personal.

However I stand by this statement: by Mik’s standards, a model T front end painstakingly fashioned from shirt cardboard would get more points than a part taken from a plastic kit.

Boomer’s colossal kitbash, which I am getting a big kick out of, is actually made to a quite different set of standards.

The main point of Mik’s challenge is to get us all building during the cold weather…
Naturally I wish all participants, including Boomer, the greatest success with their efforts.

I myself am at present building a twenty-car train, prototype based, so it would not qualify for this year’s challenge.

The rules state that anything already in your possession prior to the start of the challenge is fair game for bashing materials.

Anything, there was never anywhere in the rules affixed any value amount on what that anything may be worth, if someone wanted to clad their model in 1 caret diamonds and they had them diamonds in possession before the start, that’s fair game, its about using what you got, whatever you got, that’s the challenge.

Hey I like that diamond clad car idea, I could call it the Zsa Zsa Gabo-cart!

Dam! someone beat me to it

:stuck_out_tongue:

Mr. LeForestier isn’t in the challenge and the others that “are” in the challenge have not said a word. I for one was here when Mik joined LCS and if it was in Miks junk box and fit the bill it would have been used. Lets not argue on this and have fun with like we have so far, as it isn’t a contest but a “Challenge” to build something !

I saw some amazing results from last years challenge and I can’t think of his name but him and his son(Cody I think) met the challenge and built something… that’s what it’s about gentlemen!

It’s a challenge and not a contest

ONLY MY OPINION

Yeah well I have to agree with John here!!! it up you the rest of you to decide which one

In response to Rooster,

I am in the challenge but only as a rookie so I have stayed out of it. But since you sounded the bugle… I have zero problem with boomers build. I was aware of this challenge when it was at home elsewhere. I joined LSC only because I heard the challenge moved here. What intrigued me about the challenge was a project to use what you had laying around. Some people have bigger or more diverse junk boxes.

So I say onward Boomer
