Boomer's Drop-side Gondola Project in 1/20.3

Really nice project Boomer, love the weathering. I would have never thought of cork for a load material.

Nice, Boomer…

Is everything staying green???
Trucks look weird green…
Great job on weathering!

Great work Boomer. It takes alot of guts to do what you did to a perfectly good car. I like the idea of using cork for oar loads. Where did you find it?

Doc Watson

awesome job Boomer. great color and weathering.

Although green is my most favoritist color, ya did a great job on the car…

Thanks, Boomer. Your work is always an inspiration to “get out and do something!”

Nice job! Your weathering is superb.

Looks good Boomer!

It needs reflective stripes on the sides with safety yellow on the handrails and cut levers.

The ER&I is considering adopting “Blurple.” as the company color. (Mix of blue and purple.)

Another possible supply for cork would be an auto supply store. I know you used to be able to purchase cork gasket material in rolled sheets. Not sure how that would compare cost wise, but would think the larger quantity would be cheaper.

Thanks for the cork info Boomer.

Doc Watson

Nice job on that gondola. A good idea with the cork load it is very convincing.
When will we see a photo of the gondola in action?

Great job on the gondola Boomer ! I like the green color and the weathering looks great too . You should be proud of this car.

Pretty sure rolls of cork are at your supermarket, household supplies, shelf/ drawer liner.

I thought your trucks were Sheep Dip green… what no grease streaks on those wheels?

Excellent work and thanks for sharing your techniques.

John

ps: My great grand Daddy used to pal around with Mr Weyerhauser when they were in the Great Lakes area.

Nice job, Boomer, and great tip on the cork. Seems we have an ongoing thread on tips and tricks we use in modeling somewhere of this site. Might be good to include the cork info in it.
