Large Scale Central

BNSF Jorden Spreader

Saw this on the way home. Those are GP38’s aren’t they? Crew was in it but not sure if they were headed out or headed in. I had a meeting to go to or I would have chased them to see if they were going to put the spreader into action. The sunset was a nice touch also.

The sunset picture is larger. view it in its original it nice. I think I might have to have that printed.

They were parked at the siding at Ramsey Road and Diagonal out in Rathdrum on Monday and Tuesday. There were two spreaders there, an old one and a new one. BTW nice pictures.

I’d like to have seen that. I like the old ones better. But any odd MOW equipment gets my attention

Nice to see, but I think the Snow Dozers still look the best. But I might be a bit opinionated about that.

Well you are a bit biased but I would have to agree the dozer is cool I would have to give it the nod.

Nice photo, Devon. Can you believe I have never seen one of those around home?LOL.

There is always one in the yard in Spokane but this is the only time I have seen it out on the road.

Devon: Wait for a nice DEEP snow, then it well be out on the main widening the cleared area after the plow or rotary goes thru. There used to be several Steam Rotaries at the Auburn Roundhouse. Have a picture some where of one of them.

Paul

I have often said one of these days I will track them down but timing is never right

Captured November 2016 in Wenatchee…

That rotarty in Wenatchee replaces the Snow Dozer that was in Wenatchee. That Snow Dozer got moved to Skykomish after the Skykomish Dozed got scrapped a few years ago due to a rusted out centersill. I don’t recall Wenatchee having a rotary prior to that, so I’m guessing Wentchee stile it from Spokane or Pasco…

That’s cool that it is dressed up in GN garb still

Has BNSF road numbers, though.

If you really want be technical, it’s BN Mineral Red. The GN color was also red but a bit brighter, but similar… (http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

So, covering all bases… GN logo, BN color, BNSF number. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Beautiful photos, Devon!
