Yesterday afternoon I saw the BNSF Christmas Train southbound into San Bernardino. Not sure where it was headed in the southland.
Then you should have chased it down and asked

Hey John, it was up in the Spokane, Washington area a couple of weeks ago taking all the local National Guard members and their families to the North Pole. It was front page news in our local paper. My son-in-law was alittle miffed that he wasn’t called up to be the Conductor or Engineer for the special run.
Ahh Mr Russell the BNSF Main runs along I-215 and I was motoring along the highway in the course of my day-to-day duties for my employer…So, I wasn’t able to detour over to take a pic, record car names numbers etc…
I have to keep my status as a railfan on the down low.
