Bluestone Southern's Wednesday Get-together

The 14th of April, the Bluestone Southern hosted a get-together… About a dozen people showed up at 10, and the get-together ran till 1 pm, at which time we all headed uptown for lunch… I gave a brief explanation of what the Bluestone Southern Railroad was established for, and it’s basic operating theme… We then proceeded to the backyard, where people worked on ballasting track, along with running trains… Below are a few pictures…

The above pictures give a kind of panoramic view of the outside layout…

Running freight out of the basement…

Right side, Jan running the Doodlebug on EVWR trackage… Left Side, Denny running an NW2 & caboose on the Hilltop Subdivision…

Traffic on the line…

Steam heading out on the Hilltop Subdivision…

Workcrew rest area…

Ballast work…

A discussion on handcar powering…

Nice post Andy hope all enjoyed the day. Good to see you enjoying the BS.

Like finding Waldo… Can you find the grouchy ole’ crab sitting under the blue pop-up?
Looks real good dad! Still don’t understand why Ric would want too be your friend??
You got the $20 you owe me?

That was great. It was good seeing the Bluestone Southern’s CEO out and about on his RR…

Thanks guys… Was a great day…

Son, when ya borrow 20 bucks from me, then pay me back… that payback is not a loan, your just returning what you borrowed… You still owe me 80 bucks, tyvm…

Looks like you had a great day with beautiful weather.
I’m sure it feels good to get out with friends and run some trains again

It was fun participating in the Gateway Garden Railroad Club’s second “Wednesday Morning Gathering”. This time it was held at Andy and Jane Clarke’s house. As Andy said, he started out with an overview of their “BS”.

Since they offered snacks, people were attentive.

Then Andy brought out the ballast and we had to earn our right to play.

It really was a great day to get the Bluestone Southern’s track in shape.

This was actually done in a fun way, by taking a train out on the line and correcting any track problems as we went along. Andy provided some rolling stock

And many people brought their own.

A lot was accomplished.

And it seemed like everyone had a great time. Next month, we are half way across the state of Missouri at Bill and Sharon Canelos’s railroad in New Truxton, MO. Stay tuned for more fun.

HEhehe can I get on the Wed morning list? Its only a 7.5 hour drive…say mid July?

Bart,

I think it works this way. You come every month to work on every one else’s railroad and we’ll eventually get to yours, plus you’ve got to join the club. We even have International Membership, so don’t feel like you need to be left out, just send money.

Your dad has to build the chicken coop first, that way you cant crap on those nice walls. Then you can attend.

Glad everyone enjoyed the day. Andy you have an awsome layout. Looks great
