Large Scale Central

Bluestone Southern's Sept 21-22 2019 Ops

Next weekend is our first fall Operations session…

Would appreciate a ““heads up”” if you are planning on attending.

Thanks

The restraining order that you put against me clearly states that I’m not allowed to be within 150 light years of the Clarke Plantation! This is you’re doing not mine!

And yet, you are only 120 light years away…

Time to call the authorities… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

We plan to be there. Hoping for cooler temperatures.(http://largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Joyce and I will be at Thies Nursery on Saturday with that set up . Sunday we plan to come to your estate.

“…IF…”

Someone that’s not into operations but the modeling and photography side of the hobby and would like to run their rolling stock on the BS what would one bring ? OCS cars, Amtrash?

Just a question for those that may have both ?

Either or all…

That’s up to the choice of the person bringing stuff… All couplers here are Kadee and at kadee height gauge…

I do have some coupler transition cars…

Yuppers

Even though you already know, here is my “heads up”! I would also like a parade, with floats and people throwing candy at small children, as I pull in from the highway. (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)

Oh, we’ll give you a parade all right… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

I don’t think the drugstores are open on Sunday there - and not even sure if they have 24 hour turn-a-round. (https://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-foot-in-mouth.gif)

Below are some pictures from the Sept Ops:

The basement is the freight yard for outside operations… Below is Jan, my Yardmaster with

an Industrial Park Local ready to depart the yard… The bottom tracks are the Yard tracks…

The upper tracks are the inside layout, which is not run during Ops weekends…

Below is the BLU-EVA mixed freight working Jane’s Milling and BJ’s Coop Elevator in Bluefield.

With all Bluefield’s work completed, BLU-EVA is heading South out of Bluefield across the bridge on the

Hilltop Subdivision…

After passing the town of Overlook on the Hilltop Sub, BLU-EVA is entering the single track across

the river just before arriving at Evansville…

BLU-EVA as it arrives at Evansville…

Below is an overall look towards the town of Overlook from Bluefield… The double bridge in the center is

the Hilltop Subdivision…

The 2 bridges one on the left and the other on the right is Evansville Westen trackage…

In the following 3 pictures, Tmark and Jan at Overlook as the local is working…

Below is a shot of a set of engines running light as they return from completing a ““set-up”” train…

If you notice the “Y” track at the engines, the track to the left goes to the Hilltop Sub, while the track

to the right goes to the Sparta Subdivision…

At the beginning of each operation weekend, ““Set-up”” trains are run to set up the various locations

with the freight cars required at each location… Cars are not hauled and setup by hand…

Below is Ric working the town of Freeman Spur.

After working Freeman Spur, the Local is departing and running the Sparta Subdivision to go back

to the Bluefield Yards…

The Freeman Spur Local as it passes the town of Sparta, getting ready to enter the single track to go

across the Y bridge and enter Bluefield…

Tmark with train MCL-1as it departed Woodlawn and is heading on EVWR trackage towards Nashville.

at Memphis…

Was a nice weekend, cept for the humidity… An enjoyable few days with friends, trains and food…

GOOD PICTURES! yes, the humility was high.
