Large Scale Central

Bluestone Southern's Sept 2014 Ops

Had a great weekend to run trains… Plenty of friends to run them… Longest train was a ““pickup”” train, coming in with 31 freight cars…

Many thanks to one and all who helped during the weekend…

Will post pics and stats, when I recover… I am beat…

We’ll start out with Rita, Along with a little helper, working the Bluefield yards

Below is a shot of Bluefield. Front right is Jane’s Milling, a metal fabricating facility. Front Left Is BJ’s Feed & Mill… The town is represented by the building just past the trees… Past the town, to the Middle and left is the Industrial Park.

The front tracks in front of Jane’s Milling and BJ’s feed & Mill are for engine setup from off-road power… You will note, at the right is Mark’s Doodlebug with caboose, and on the left is Dan’s Rock Island GP-38’s…

It was a fun weekend. Jan and I thank Andy and Jane for all their work and the friends that help make these ops so much fun. Each one gets better and the length of the trains and the trackage continues to improve.

Nice photos. That’s a rather large railroad.

Hopefully I can make it back out there again in Oct. Still waiting on Bart to make up his mind…

You may have a tough wait.

Thanks so much for the images and the report on the weekend…

Looks like you guys n’ gals had a blast…

I’d sure like to get back there for a run…

Sheesh. I’ve been waiting like…
All summer for these pics!
Very nice!! Thanks again.
(sometimes on my RR when no one’s looking, Amtrak takes the siding for the more important trains!)

For those interested in stats…

Sat we ran 14 trains, 3 of which were the set-up trains.

Sun, we ran 17 trains, 3 of which were the collection trains…

Nice looking railroad Andy! Glad you had good weather for ops.
