Looking VERY nice!

I don’t guess you’re going to run out of room anytime soon…

I still have a little more area I can expand to… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-tongue-out.gif)(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-laughing.gif)(http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

Wow. looking at the plan, Industrial Park must be a real fun place to switch out , with the main lines there to run around the cars on! Thanks so much Andy, I may “borrow” some industry layouts fro mine if they will fit. Thanks, Pete

“Industrial Park” is fun to work, but so is “Hill Top” and “Freeman Spur”, let alone MCL1 or MCL2. All of the switching puzzles are mind twisters and you have to first get there. Its nice, that once you get into the switching puzzles, the trackage is yours and you don’t fight with mainline traffic.

.

Lots of scenarios of mainline running, long freights, switching puzzles, passenger ops and when the “Logging Run” is complete with the switchbacks, the options will be there for everyone, except the “circle burners” that want their Lionel train to go round and round and round, while they nap. However, naps are allowed in the crew lounge or in the shade on the hillside.

.

Talk to Andy or Jane about joining the fun in September or October.

Yup, just ask Matt…

Your welcome, Pete… As Ric listed, My goal was to provide all types of Operations… From the mind twisters to the simplest Runs like the passenger trains or the unit coal train that involve no switching…

Basic goal was to make anyone feel comfortable to run a train… Once the switchback is completed, I do believe I have met those goals…

Feel free to copy/modify any of the track plan… (http://www.largescalecentral.com/externals/tinymce/plugins/emoticons/img/smiley-cool.gif)

You have succeeded in your goal Andy: very fun operations and each train is very different; we sure do enjoy it all!

Good stuff!

After the October 2018 Ops, the weather turned nice enough for us to be able to finish the Switchback…

All the switchback legs are completed, and at the top is a 3 track yard… Some landscaping has been added, and more will come

probably in the spring…

Some more pictures of the switchback:

These shots are at the top of the hill…

The below shot is of the Yard area at the top.

The below shot is from the top, overlooking the top yard area at the bottom of the picture… Yhe view goes down to

Lumber sawmill yard which is located just to the left of the bridges on the right hand side of the picture…

You might notice the ““Chief Inspector”” walking up the hill to check that things are good…

The below picture shows how it was constructed… With the tractor I hauled the aglime (crusher fines) up and dumped it where

the tracks were to be located… The piles were leveled for the track, then we added the track and a digital reader level to determine the grade.

Once the grade was determine, we then covered the sides with landscape underlament and covered that with inch and 1/2 rock.

Eventually, along side of the track more plants will be added to hide most of the rock…

And if you notice, that Chief Inspector is keeping a watchful eye on progress…
