Found the knee pads in the roofing department of the local lumber supply. Said the roofers are grabbing them up like crazy. They are marketed by a company called S.O.G. for Special Operations Group. Andy’s Ops are about as “Special” as it gets for me. Very comfortable, hard plastic and have a hinge built in. Foamed line, have worn with shorts, but they like the cloth to grip. Skin, not as well.

You are supposed to wear sandals with tube socks pulled up to your knees when wearing them with shorts
Ric, would these kneepads work for canoeing? A bit off topic, to be sure, but my knees are desperate.
