Large Scale Central

Bluestone Southern Ops Session

We are going to attempt the first actual scheduled Operations Session on the Bluestone Southern railroad on 3-4 Nov, 2012…
The Ops session starts at noon and runs till dark each day…

Ops will be by assigned freight/passenger trains with printed switching lists, but not run by ““RailOps””… Trains will be dispatcher controled…

People attending are more than welcome to bring their own motive power & cabooses…

HOWEVER: 1) The Bluestone Southern is a Battery Operation… There is no electrical power to any tracks…
2) Live steam can be run outside during the Ops Session, PROVIDED the steam engine can be controlled Remotely…

Would appreciate an email, if you plan to attend… Thanks…

Well, I booked a room at the Best Western, so I guess I’ll be there…

Can’t guarantee that I’ll make it, but I’m gonna try. Haven’t had enough ops session this year

On our calendar

I’ll be there to disrupt the order of cars  looking forward to it.

I'm sure that can be arranged. Heck, I might even have room for it since I won't have a car load of Andy's "stuff" to haul out there.......at least, not yet..............;)

What, no load of new hoppers, This cant be right

1 week and counting!

Well, Sat’s forecast is 61 for a high, and late evening showers possible… Sun’s high is to be 58… Not as good as they were predicting earlier this week, but very acceptable…

As it turns out my loco-to-tender plug on my battery engine apparently snapped off in transit from the train show the other weekend. Gonna try to fix it Friday, hopefully this goes well…

Worked with Andy and Jane yesterday on ballasting and train orders. This is all comng together real nice and should be great fun. Another great weekemd is building.

WELL , how did it go today ?
Are you guys still out there operating in the night time ?

OK, we ran a total of 22 trains today… Freights trains, RDC passenger runs, one passnger extra, AMTRAK, The EVWR Local & the Industrial Park Local… Was a good day… All freight trains had 8-9 freights cars on each train… A total of 4 passenger trains were run…

Weather could have been better, but, we all had a good time… Next session starts at Noon tomorrow…

…And you took plenty of pictures, right?

-Kevin.
