Some time during the night of March 12 part of the village of Kimberly, near the RoW of the future Allegheny Valley RR, suffered severe wind damage. The roof of Our Lady of Perpetual Suffering church was torn off, along with the steeple, dashing to the ground and scattering the resident pigeons. The General Store/Post Office/bull swaparium was also heavily damaged when a strong gust blew it entirely off it’s foundation and into the swamp. Although no one was injured, this reporter found many of the town’s citizens huddled, still totally stiff with shock, inside an overturned cardboard box…
Repairs are expected to take several weeks, or maybe 20 minutes, if the mayor ever gets off his lazy duff…
