Bird photography tips for Bruce

Bruce et all, I got hooked on the Strobist blogspot years ago and it always serves as a source of inspiration. It’s about using flash in daylight and other cool photo issues. Anyway, David Hobby, that’s the guy who runs the blog, has a bluebird in his backyard and this is how he got some great shots. Feel free to buy a lot of photo gear. He’s made a photo gimmick junkie out of me (yes I do own Pocket Wizards).

Wow, that’s pretty impressive. I’m much more the casual photographer; just a simple Canon camera and a pair of binoculars. I hate having to carry stuff, but a tripod would certainly help.

This past winter I evicted at lest 18 of those brown suckers. The best way I found is to take a paper towel and cover it and then pick it up so it stays inside the towel and then take it to a window and throw it outside. As long as it’s covered with the towel, it won’t fart and because of their small size they don’t last to long outside in the cold. Two minutes tops.
