Bird feeder buildings

Yesterday I saw a couple nifty bird feeders at our local feed store. These may be the ones Dan Pierce referred to in a 2014 thread, not sure. So FWIW,

Here’s their web site. Scroll down to see all the buildings.

North State Industries

The doors seem too big for my 1:24 situation, but might be ok for 1:20.3. I wrote for more info on either scale or door heights, I’ll post any response.

For around $20 they seem like a good deal. 3 year warranty, glazed windows, some nice details.

If I use them, I’d probably want to either get rid of the seed tray & seal off the bottom, or keep the tray and flow in some plaster to fill the seed trough areas. Also add some paint to make the details stand out.

Just thought if this, if plaster (e.g., Cementall) is flowed in, that would decrease the door height, which would be a good thing in my case.

Availability seems fairly broad: Walmart, Pet Smart, Do It Best, Ace, etc. But no Lowes or HD.

I remember a thread on using bird feeders a long time ago but they were bird feeders that were sold at Michael’s and were not near as nice as this feeder. There was also an article on using them and it was in Garden Railroder. They were a little undersized and it would have taken a lot of work to convert to a G scale building.

There was another thread started not long ago on the same subject. Menards carries them, usually on sale for $9.99. I have both of those, a log cabin, and a lighthouse

good idea, to fill the trenches with a rock foundation.

Last month I got 2 barns in the John Deer colors and a 3rd building in a double length (rectangular).

In the past I found the log cabin and the barn in double lengths.

Where to find these… Tractor supply, pet supply, and even walmart at times.
