Great work on the cedar shingles, Bill. Hard to beat the look of them.

So I’ve finally stopped silently cursing all of you who got me on to Titebond 3-ing my shingles.
The black congealed blood coloured titebond ooze that plagued me at the beginning continued through to the end. I initially thought it came from selling my soul to the titebond devil.
The results turned out quite ok, though the ooze continued to find gaps for an hour after each row of shingles were laid down. Man that stuff is difficult to cut once dried.
MIK DISCLAIMER
I did pray for Divine intervention when I pulled out the blade. I’m pretty sure I spelled it correctly and didn’t accidentally write Devon intervention. Though that could be the other explanation for the congealed blood ooze that plagued this build!
No build is truly a success without blood shed. There has to be a sacrifice to the modeling gods
Thanks for taking one for the team!
This is not universal, each must appease the gods. As long as you are over 18. I dont advocate a blood letting for the Mueller children.
If it pleases Your Honour,
I would like to argue that many modern tribes ceased the ancient traditions and found the gods as were easily appeased with common farm animal sacrifice.
As sacrificing every member of the Mik tribe might actually doom the LargeScale Centralian civilisation as we know it. I am seeking to appeal this decision to the Supreme Court Under Mik
Does SPAM count? because I sacrificed a can this morning!!
I believe that the spamalope is an introduced species in Hawaii, so yes.
I read that the highest consumption per capita is there, keeping the herds in check. Rumours are McDonald’s has a herd used in breakfast dishes.
That’s it? We are suffering through our 2-3 week wintet. with temperatures getting down to the mid-60s Fahrenheit. Love living in the tropics!
We usually use foam. Burns? Yes. Cuts. Not so much!
Bill,
SPAM is our vegemite, only tastier! It is a culinary leftover from WWII, when the fishing fleet, which was largely ethnic Japanese, was laid up because the military governor did not trust the Japanese population. Beyond a breakfast treat, it is used in fired rice, soups, and, in its highest culinary form, the SPAM Musubi. This masterpiece of ethnic fusion food is fried spam on a block of sushi rice wrapped in nori, a Korean seaweed. Broke da’ mouth! So 'ono!
Eric
yeah, when younger, i did too.
but two things changed that. air condition and age.
when it was hot everywhere (100° plus) we just ignored it and i could work on the land, without feeling bad. but with air conditioning the frequent change between hot and cold is hard to bear.
getting older i can’t drink as much as i can sweat.
the greatest advantage we have in the tropics - less cost for heating and thick socks.
Sorry it drove you to the edge of sanity Bill. You asked for waterproof and I personally like the depth it shows in your pictures.
Yeah dammit David, I like it too. Thanks for goading me.
I used Rustoleum Colonial Red and the best thing is if I ever need to match this paint, I’ll know that I can call on Devon for a colour sample. I worry that I might have to sign up as a donor if I need to match often.
I haven’t glazed the windows yet. Superglue hasn’t been the best option for me glazing. What do you folks use?
Canopy glue, 85-EVERGREEN 2 OUNCE CANOPY GLUE - Evergreen Scale Models
made by several different companies.
Thats coming out very nice.
Thanks Ric. Just placed the order.
Found it Jim.

Why is it your fav? I see there’s a Goop2. Is it better?
Cheers
