Yipes! I’m in.
I’m doing something that requires some tower or structure. More tomorrow once I find a napkin.

I know… it looks a bit mundane. But bear with me—the plan is to deploy it whimsically.
After far too many house moves, anything whimsical we owned was carefully packed, labelled “fragile,” triple-wrapped with optimism, and promptly lost somewhere between boxes marked “miscellaneous,” “definitely important,” and “why is this still warm?”.
This project is my entirely serious, possibly misguided attempt to find the whimsy—assuming it hasn’t already been donated to an op-shop, recycled, or achieved sentience in the garage and wandered off.
I’m trying to be philosophical about it.
Im ok at cutting straight lines, and very slow at wood carving. However “whimsical” is not lying comfortably in my current skill set.
These tools have been my bench top workshop set for the last 20 years, and allowed me to work in the living room, as we had no garage or shed. Model Machines are amazing but limited in size capacity.
But that changed recently as my only woodworking shop closed its doors, and forced me to go big or go without.
A neighbour recently gave me some tassie oak that would have otherwise gone to the tip, so suddenly I have no reason to not build something. So today I’m learning what a bandsaw, can do.
So far, so good.
