Large Scale Central

Big Red

The newly organized Pacolet Valley Railroad unveils the fleet. Big Red, a Baldwin 4-6-0 is a former B&O locomotive. Being a short line, the PVRR recycles old, outdated equipment. The 0-4-0 provides the yard duty. The Mack pulls the MOW train. The PVRR is awaiting the completion of the current track construction under way to initiate operations. Next up, lettering. Ralph

Looks good , and it reminded me , wish that I could find the photos , of a large coal mine North of here years ago , that had all old Alco diesels , and they were in a really nice looking Black and red paint scheme .
Your PVrr paint scheme is nice .

Real nice, love the paint scheme!

Thank you gentleman.
I like colorful trains in the garden.
The PVRR paint scheme…inspired by the many Cardinals that share our yard.

Ralph,

Looks good. I can see a boxcar labeled with “the Cardinal Line” logo along the side.

I finally found some pics , and this has faded red , when freshly painted these were knockouts ,

Nice paint scheme

Looks Great Ralph!

Dennis,
That is an interesting paint scheme, even faded.

Nice work Ralph. I really like the colors.

Ralph, They look very sharp…I’m a big fan of red on RR equipment.

Nice paint scheme

Thanks for the link. Pretty cool.

Ric,
I’ve got a caboose getting ready for paint.
I like the way you think

About trains at least :D :D

I like the red and black scheme, and the Cardinal Lines is a great idea. I can almost see the herald in my head

Now I can see it on the screen   [url=lsc.cvsry.com/PVR_Logo.jpg]

If you can see the herald…show it to me =)
I’m stuck. I like Bruce’s herald but don’t want to make mine too similar.
No, I like the way Ric thinks…period.

Wow, Received before I even asked. Kreskin has nothing on you. Thanks Jon. Ralph

You’re welcome!

No worries on infringing on Bruce - His bird is a woodpecker ! :o

This was about 20 minutes of fun. 10 of that was remembering how to put letters on a curved line. It’s easy to change if you have any thoughts, and I can give you vector art that can be sized without loss.

You have a damn fine Shop Crew. That fleet looks rather spiffy…

And I like that herald…though I’m not too fond of cardinals…they’ve taken a liking to the side view mirrors on my truck and the wife’s car and keep pecking at them.

Cool. Another bird! That looks great.

SHARP!

We have towhees here that do the same thing. They think they're defending their territory from another bird. Funny thing is that they stop periodically and look behind the mirror, trying to figure out how to get at that "other bird".
