Roundhouse Engineering have announced their new model for this year - a VERY fine replication in 16mm scale [1/19th] of the much-missed Darjeeling and Himalaya Railway’s Class D Beyer-Garratt. Roundhose have finally buried their stamped tin valve-gear, too - these wiggly bits are laser cut and look all the better for it.
No manual control, due to the complexity of having two ‘bendy engines’ and a cab in the middle.

Priced at around $4600 it will appeal to those with slightly deeper pockets than mine, but I have no doubt that they will sell like hot chapattis, in spite of the AWFUL SLOTTED SCREW HEADS ON THE BUFFER BEAMS!!!
