Admittedly, I gave this to myself. I have been driving past this in a guys front yard for over 3 years, and finally decided to talk to him about it yesterday. He helped me load it this morning, Price??? “Get it out of my Yard!” This is right at 8 feet tall, and far from light. He said it was in his yard when he bought the house more than 20 years ago. I think it safe to assumw this is from the local line (now with the track gone for 15 years) that was S.P. owned… I was searching for something to hold my electronic ‘stuff’ such as transformers and the like, and will mount this on a concrete pad, with the power going in, and track power going out through conduit.
I suspect the ibuprophen it will take to live through the back pain will cost as much as the matching ozark part…
Ooh, nice! I want to get some equipment boxes for the yard, too, but there aren’t too many of them around these parts.
Very cool! Probably made by Union Switch and Signal …
PA Rocks!
Bob, All you need is a truck with an air compressor for the impact wrench, and a bom to lift it, heck, they are all over the place, right next to the tracks…
Down towards Bisbee, there is a ranch that has a 2 light post atr his gate. I suspect it will take more talkig than I am capable of to convince him I need it more than he does though…
Dave, in the seconsd picture you can see the 'T.U.S.& S. Co
Swissvale, PA.
Wish I had more information on the age of it…
Sweet! I would love to have one of those in my yard!
I finally got around to throwing a coat of paint on it, very bright aluminum/silver finish on it now. Plans for the company logo are in the works.
And here is likely as much of a logo as I’ll put on it. The wife wants more but she’ll have to get over it.

For both the letters and sillouette I used shelf paper which is easy to manage. The drawings were cut out after it was stuck to the box.
Nice work Don
