Howdy
Anyone replaced the drive shaft on one of these? Mine finally gave up the ghost today. The original is some sort of soft plastic that cracks and splits.
Edit: Or, does anyone know how to repair teeny threads in soft plastic?

I’ve used JB Weld to fill holes, then drill and re-tap it for the threads I need. The hole needs to be rough inside (especially the slick plastics) for the JB to grip.
Bob-
I believe (remember?) Dave Goodson wrote a repair on the “Goose” drivetrain.
I would make a contact with him.

Bob,
I had a broken driveshaft on mine also. It is caused by overtightening the screws. I dremeled the flats on the shafts deeper and got new shaft from Berlyn. Just snug the screws on new drive shaft. No good way to fix broken parts as it is unglueable plastic. Berlyns address is PO Box 33355 North Glenn Colo, 80233-0355
Thanks for a great website!!!

Bob,
I had the same problem, but took the short way out (I think!). I carefully wrapped small gauge bras wire around the gear hub (several turns) and then using a plier, twisted the ends, as in a tie-wrap, as snug as I dared. This was done many years ago, and numer six is still chugging along. Good luck!
